Common causes of childhood Obesity

Obesity is a problem in America that we have been aware of, however childhood obesity is becoming a huge problem a high percentage of kids become fat at an early age and that provokes early health problems in child and also future diseases like cancer, diabetes and many others.

We need to identify the causes of childhood obesity and learn how to prevent it for the health of our child. We can not continue to ignore this issue, there can be serious long term consequences for people that are obese since childhood.

Some of the causes of childhood obesity are:

Eating too much Most kids have bad eating habits and they just eat whatever tastes good, snacks and junk food and they eat a lot of it.

Not exercising Is becoming more common to see kids watching tv or playing video games instead of doing an exercise or a sport they like. They dont play with a ball or with something that requires physical activity.

Fast food Kids are everyday exposed to thousands of advertisements of fast food and junk food. Many of the kinds just like to eat fast food and not anything with nutrients and vitamins.

Genetics Some child are born with a body genetic that tends to get fat, so they require special attention to determine what is a correct diet for them. If they parents are fat, they are likely to become too.

Lifestyle Most of the children learn to eat at their homes, if they see that their family eats every day hamburgers, fast food and processed food, they will eat the same and will have an unhealthy diet.

Low Nutrition As mentioned above kids are not eating healthy food, they are eating processed food and fast food that dont have any nutrients and vitamins. To eat the necessary nutrients that our body needs they have to eat vegetables and fruits.

Those are some of the causes of childhood obesity and you as a parent have to be aware of it. If you child have a problem of obesity take him with a nutritionist so he can give you a diet plan. Encourage your kid to do exercise, take him to sports events and dont let them watch too much TV.
