Obesity has become an epidemic in the US and also in many countries of the world. Since 1970 obesity has more than doubled, according to studies made in the year 2000. Now its worse and people are not paying attention, childhood and adolescent obesity are a dangerous health problem.
There are different situation that has provoke the rise of obesity. Fast food companies has grown imensely large through the United States and other countries like China, those companies want to increase their earnings and lower cost as much as possible. What happens, is that they deliver poor unhealthy food in mass quantities so they earn more.
And the big problem is that our children and adolescents have adopted this way of eating as their lifestyle. They are bombarded with thousands of advertisements every day selling them fast food and junk food that they can get and their closest store. And healthy food with vitamins and minerals is just in the supermarket and they dont care about it, because is not what they are seeing every day.
The problem of obesity is not just that we eat junk food, but also our sedentary lifestyle. Our children and adolescents are avoiding more physical activities and watching more tv and playing video games, this cause them to exercise less and eat more, therefore a problem of obesity is imminent.
What we should do is tell our children what is right to eat for our health, but the most important thing that you can do, is to give them the example, prepare good healthy food at your house and they will like it. Avoid buying fast food in your house, eat fruits in the breakfast, use many vegetables in your daily foods.
Adolescents have the same problem, they are exposed to more junk food and want the easy and fast way. The culture of fast is making us think that fast food is the only way to go, in reality there are a lot of healthy foods that you can make quick, but no one will tell you because companies doesent make money our of natural food.
Anotherproblem that is making people overweight is that we are not getting enough nutriends in our body and our metabolism is no working well. Lack of exercise is part of the problem, if you exercise every day, your metabolism will be higher and you will burn more fat quickly.
