Childhood Obesity Life Expectancy |
There has been some studies that show that the life expectancy of children with obesity can reduce by 5 years. There needs to be something done, we need to slowdown the obesity epidemic if we want to avoid serious health problems that will reduce life of many people by many years.
Some people might think that is not a huge problem or something to worry too much about, but the truth of the matter is that this has become in an epidemic that is not stopping, every years more children have serious obesity problems and the consequences are serious
Some of the common consequences of obesity are type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, low self esteem and other illnesses that drastically reduce the life expectancy of a person.
Parents need to educate their children and show them a healthy way of eating, it has to be a lifestyle not just a diet or little exercise. For example, eating fast food every day has to stop, watching 5 hours a day of tv has to stop, not doing any exercise has to change, not eating any vegetable and fruits has to change, those are some of the things that might help.
However, the issue of obesity is so huge that there are clearly some things in our environment and daily food intakes that is getting thousands of kids and people to obesity. There should be more accurate measures for every product to show what is health and what is not. Most people are uninformed and dont have idea of what is hurting their health.
There should be programs in schools to do daily sports or encourage physical activities, there should be healthy food available in school for children that want to have it.
There is a lot that can be done by your community and the government to establish some measures that help reduce the number of obese children and have a better educations on what is healthy or how to have a healthy lifestyle.
