Parents Are To Blame For Childhood Obesity?

Childhood obesity has become a real issue in the USA and some other parts of the world, the question that many people ask is who is responsible for this? what is the reason that our children are obese?

There are different causes related to obesity in children some of the common ones are bad eating habits, lack of physical activity, biological factors, psychological factors and behavioral factors.

However, lets put this in simple terms, heredity and behavioral factors are not the most common causes. Its known that the lack of physical activities and bad eating habits are the most usual causes.

Therefore some people blame parents for childhood obesity, lets see if that is true. Eating healthy and doing physical activities are a matter of choice, the child and the family need to promote healthy eating habits and take their kid to sports or in the school should be physical activities.

The kids dont have any knowledge of what is good or bad for them, parents need to let them know and educate them. Usually the best way to educate our children is with example, you need to eat healthy food with them and do some outside activities with them. Another important point, is that parents should prevent their kids from watching too much tv and instead they should do outside games.

However is not all the parents fault, there are thousands of ads that children are exposed every year of junk food and fast food. The most easily available food is junk, in the grocery store or the supermarket. Also fast food has become very convenient for most people and that is causing a great problem.

School plays an important role also, they should not see junk food and should encourage healthy lunches. They should teach and educate students on the proper way for a healthy lifestyle and promote physical activities. If your children see all their friends eating junk food and soda he will eat the same, so this is important.

As you can see is not just to blame parents, but parents have a huge impact on what their children habits are, so you can do a lot for them, educate them, sometimes the influence of outside, like school is what creates good or bad habits. Parents must be aware the media has a big impact on what their children consume on a daily basis and is most of the time wrong, you should try to cook food and not buy fast junk food.
