School Lunches And Childhood Obesity

There are many mothers who ask themselves what is the cause of obesity in their children, what are you doing wrong or why this happens to some kids and not to others. There are different causes and in some cases there are people with a more vulnerable metabolism than others, however the growth of childhood obesity in the last 20 years has doubled so there is some root cause that needs to be addressed.

Basically there are 2 things parents need to be aware to avoid obesity in kids, they should encourage child activity and good nutrition. We as parents can do a lot to improve those points, however sometimes our kids gets many of their habits from school with their friends.

We need to be aware of what does our child eats at school lunches, does he buys his food in school? or he takes his lunch from home to school? Its important to know this because sometimes we think that we are giving nutrient food to our kids, but in school they are eating just junk, snacks and candy, so they get addicted to eating sugar candies.

Another important point that schools should do is to encourage physical activities at school, kids should play a sport or do some outside games that keep them busy instead of just eating at their free time.

So, my recommendation is to give your child his lunch for school, so when he is hungry he can eat something good and nutrient, if there are some good food selling at the school tell your child what is best for him.

Also, it could help to talk with the directors of the school and tell them to implement some sport activities and educate child about the importance of proper nutrition.

Avoid eating too much Sugar, if you child eats too much sugar or junk foods and watchs TV all day, he will get obese.
